Why your own browser can't tell you
If a page won't load for you, that could mean the site is down for everyone — or it could mean your Wi-Fi, your ISP, a VPN, or a cached DNS entry is the actual problem. Refreshing your own browser can't rule any of those out, because you're still checking from the same network that might be the issue.
An outside-in check settles it: we run 12 checks from our own infrastructure, separate from yours — homepage response, response time, TLS certificate validity, DNS resolution, the HTTP→HTTPS redirect, domain expiry, and the mail-related records (SPF, DMARC, MX) that break quietly.
